2 16 oz. cans pork and beans
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 cup ketchup
1 tblsp. molasses
Optional: 1/4 cup Jack Daniel's whiskey (or one small airplane sized bottle)
6 slices of bacon
1 large onion, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook bacon in skillet until done but not crisp,
dice bacon and set aside. Drain all but 2 tblsp. drippings. Add onion and
sauté until soft. Combine all ingredients except bacon in a 1 qt. casserole
dish. Top with diced bacon and bake 40 - 45 minutes. The thinner the layer
the better, cake or lasagna pan works well.
(After cooking only the flavor from the whisky remains because the heat evaporates the alcohol! Just thought that I would add this note for those that might not know!)
Thanks Janelle!
